Plant-based Meat

As the global population keeps increasing, the agricultural land becomes less. The problems about food shortages and the consumption of meat have become important issues that we must face. Recently, plant-based meat has been known in public.

Plant-based meat is a processed food. To make plant-based meat, first we need to extract protein from soil beans, then heat it, squeeze it and finally cool it. After that, add some ingredients and additives to make it taste more like meat. During the process, some manufacturers take out haemoglobin from the roots of plants to replace the animals’ haemoglobin, giving a real tasty. A new alternative diet creates a new way to provide consumers the different choices and experience of eating.

According to Harvard Medical School’s study,

Beyond Meat and Impossible Foods, which American plant-based meat companies offer plant-based burger patties
contain the same protein, vitamins and minerals as meat, but they have higher sodium. 4 ounces (about 113 grams) of plant-based burger patties have 370 to 390 milligrams of sodium, which is four times more sodium content of the same weight of meat. On the other hand, the total calories of  plant-based meat are about 37 percent less than meat. The total fat in per 100 grams (about half a bowl of rice) is about 60 percent less than meat, which is the same amount of fat in a skin-on fried chicken. These advantages are important in dietary nutrition.

Some manufacturers will add some coconut oil (containing 85 percent saturated fat) during the process, making plant-based meat tastes and looks more like meat. In this way, plant-based meat is not only over-processed, but also has the same amount of fat as meat. Actually, it isn’t a good choice for people who are looking for natural or less processed foods. Due to this analysis and criticism, Beyond Meat and Impossible Foods have continued producing new hamburger steaks with less salt and fat.

In order to improve human health, keeping environmentally friendly, preventing climate change and energy conservation. Changing eating habits is a good method that everyone should give it a try. Starting from us, protecting the Earth forever~

Meat

Meat is an essential substance for the survival and development of many animals and people. First, meat does not contain too many food additives.

Food additives are not completely bad, but meat with fewer additives is better to consumers' health demands.

Furthermore,  meat has high nutritional content, which is rich in protein, vitamins, minerals and other nutrients, and has complete amino acids, which can avoid nutritional imbalances. And provide the "complete protein" that the human body needs.

Finally, the sodium content of animal meat is more suitable for human needs. If you eat too much sodium ions, it is easy to cause cardiovascular disease. For patients with chronic diseases such as high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease or kidney disease, animal meat has a moderate amount of sodium.

But it contains a lot of cholesterol, which is the main culprit of problems such as high blood pressure and heart disease. In such a situation where advantages and disadvantages coexist, health is the first consideration. When ingesting all kinds of meat, the basic policy is "timely, moderately, and appropriate".
